Are There Any Qualifications To Work With?

Are There Any Qualifications To Work With? For those who have aspirations to get higher education, there are very few better options than working with International Fellows (I.F.) or International Tutors (I.T.) for your U.S. undergraduate degree. In the U.S., there are nearly 500 colleges and universities that offer an Associate's or a Bachelor's degree. They all have different admission requirements and admission process. All of these colleges require you to complete the same things and apply for the same things: test scores, GPA and many other things. There are many who think that because they are from the U.S., they don't have to worry about these rules or restrictions. Actually, these rules are common for most U.S. colleges and universities. The fact is that the rules are different from one institution to another. Hence, it is very important for a student to fully understand the rules of admission so that they can properly apply for their desired college or university. If you are app lying for admission to a public university, then a great way to find out what admissions requirements you need to fulfill is by getting test scores. Once you get all your scores and you have a great score, then you can compare them with other applicants and decide which ones you would prefer to apply for. You should make sure that you provide the school with all the necessary documentation as well as proof of your grades and test scores. Also, for those students who have outstanding academic records and have shown academic potential in the past, but have been unsuccessful in their university admissions for whatever reason, the International Tutoring and Associates (I.T.) can be a good option. Unlike in the U.S., there are many tutoring centers that will help you enhance your qualifications. Some tutoring centers even help you get into a certain degree program and even some foreign countries will allow you to teach in their universities.Generally, the international tutoring center is the one that will pay you if you want to work in that country. However, the standards differ with each tutor center, but the main goal is to help you enhance your academic standards. This may not be an option for you at your university. However, since there are many tutoring centers in the U.S., you can choose which one you prefer to work in.You can also look up U.S. colleges and universities by using the Internet and research for information. There are also many organizations that help you out when you are looking for a place to work or study abroad.

If you hang out with musicians, you’ll probably know someone who studied at one of them. Why not teach there?Teachers in conservatoires should be familiar with perfo rming music. (Source: Tuur Tisseghem)The conservatoires in the UK generally function as universities and offer degrees for the same fees you’d expect for degrees at any other university. They offer undergraduate and postgraduate degrees as well as music classes. Here are a few examples:Royal Academy of Music (London)Leeds College of MusicRoyal Birmingham ConservatoireRoyal Conservatoire of Scotland (Glasgow)They’re much bigger than the music schools you’d find in a smaller town or village. They offer courses covering:Introductions to musicMusic theory and how to read musicTraditional musicHistory of musicPractice and rehearsalScales and arpeggiosPlaying in an orchestra, ensemble, or string quartet.Singing lessonsFor all types of instruments including:Classical guitarCelloViolinSaxophoneHarmonicaHarpVioloncelloFluteBut how can you teach in these institutions? The first thing you’ll have to do is get some qualifications similar to those taught at your typical school of music. A passion for music and being able to play your musical instrument well is essential if you want to teach in a internationally recognised conservatoire.Everyone knows that music is something that can be taught as long as you have the ear for it. If you’re not a musical prodigy but rather a mere mortal, the best thing you can do is to study and practise for a number of years until you reach the required skill level.  You’ll soon see why this training is so important.Of course, practising isn’t the only important thing when it comes to becoming a violin teacher. You’ll also need to be familiar with the history of the instrument and a master of music theory.A conservatoire will require that you be both a talented and skilled musician and a quality teacher.  You should know that conservatoires have strict hiring policies. You’ll certainly need to be educated to a higher level than the subjects you’ll be teaching, of course, and you’ll also be expected to have teaching skills and experience. Without these qualities, you’ll find it hard to get a job in a conservatoire.Violin Teacher Jobs: Teaching in a Music CentreAs we said before, in addition to the conservatoires, there are also local music schools and centres. They offer music classes rather than academic degrees.Join the discussion: can you teach the violin without any credentials?Students can learn a lot more from their violin lessons than just how to play. (Source: pixabay.com)Just like when working at a conservatoire, you’ll be expected to have been trained beyond the level you’re wanting to teach. The main difference is that with music centres, you won’t always require purely academic experience.Remember that a teacher in a music school isn’t exactly the same as a teacher in a conservatoire. The students in a music centre will often be less demanding than those in a conservatoire. In fact, a lot of them will be learning music for fun rather than as a career. In this case, you’ll be exp ected to show them the joy of playing music so that you have fewer dropouts.  So have fun! While you’re teaching them music theory one lesson, you can be teaching them the songs they want to learn another. Games can be really useful for helping students have fun while they learn. In these cases, the cost of violin lessons vary depending on the type of tuition. While the recorder is taught in most primary schools around the country, there are schools offering a more holistic music education including violin playing, voice lessons, and ethnomusicology. In fact, secondary school students can do music GCSEs and A Levels with almost any instrument or singing. With 5 years of obligatory schooling and 2 of sixth form, students have plenty of time to master their instrument. As we said earlier, a number of them are choosing to learn the violin.Regardless of your students’ level, learning the violin requires a significant investment of both yours and your student’s time.  However, if you’re as passionate about teaching music as you are the violin, it might be a worthwhile career. If you want to teach in a national secondary school, you’ll need to have a degree in or related to your given subject as well as the PGCE. You can also opt for a Bachelor of Education (BEd) degree which while usually for primary school teacher, is available for secondary teachers in certain universities.  You’ll also be expected to pass police criminal record checks (the DBS).Groups and Workshops for Finding Violin Teacher JobsAside from conservatoires and music centres, there are also other organisations that can help you become a violin teacher. Associations, in particular. For these associations, it doesn’t matter who you are or where you’re from, they encourage every violinist to meet certain teaching standards and your membership will go a long way to helping convince students that your lessons are worth your rates. They also offer courses and qualifications to prove your abilities and technique. You'll need to be familiar with music theory if you want to earn a certification in teaching violin. (Source: pixabay.com)Of course, this isn’t a one-way street and you’ll be expected to consistently provide quality instruction and pay them. The costs of joining these associations can vary and are generally between £50 and £100 per year. Of course, there are perks that comes with being member, too.Violin Teaching Positions: Private TutorialsIf you’re still studying or waiting for that first job in teachi ng, becoming a private violin tutor could be a really good choice for you.A lot of people nowadays want to learn to play an instrument without investing a lot of money or having to attend tonnes of lessons throughout the week. These are the people who tend to hire private tutors either at home or for online teaching jobs.Whether at home or in small groups at the tutors house, flexibility is key when giving private tutorials. By visiting a tutoring platform such as Superprof, the student can peruse potential tutors before choosing the teacher that works for them. There’s no minimum requirement for teaching private violin tutorials. It doesn’t matter whether you’ve specialised in classical music or rock music, students who are interested in what you’re teaching will give you a call and if you provide quality lessons, they'll keep coming back. You should also consider telling your friends on social networks such as Facebook that you’re providing private tutorials. As a private t utor, you can really help students who are struggling or need to progress quickly. Whether you’re teaching them to improvise, play jazz, classical, or any other style of music, your knowledge will be a of huge benefit to your students.Furthermore, as a tutor, you can choose the rates for your tutorials. Prices for tutors start at around £10 to £15 per hour. How you teach your students and what you focus on (positioning, fingering, reading sheet music, etc.) is up to you.You could offer taster lessons to beginners at a discounted rate since for the first few lessons you'll be showing them the basics like tuning their violin strings, bowing technique, posture, and performing basic notes in order to play beginner pieces like Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star before building building their repertoire. Most violin teachers offer a discount for block bookings, too, since when you learn to play the violin, you probably won't become a virtuoso overnight and will require instruction over a lo nger period of time.Violin Jobs: Training in Music TherapyMusic therapy is exactly what it sounds like, using music as a method to accomplish certain goals. The violin can be as effective as medicine in certain cases. Are You Allowing Yourself To Be Labeled - Introvert Whisperer

Introvert Whisperer / Are You Allowing Yourself To Be Labeled - Introvert Whisperer Are You Allowing Yourself To Be Labeled? I was having an interesting conversation with a new friend yesterday and I was telling her about my dislike in being labeled. I’ve long had an aversion at being called “Mrs.” or even “Ms.” but the aversion extends far beyond just those titles. I simply don’t like to be categorized. People do like to categorize each other as it simplifies communication but it also over-generalizes and anytime that happens, we are wrong in some way about that person. I think that’s why when I write about introverts, I will sometimes say it doesn’t matter if you are or aren’t a “card-carrying introvert”. The important thing is to look beyond the label and understand if the challenges are ones you relate to then I can help address those issues. My friend said that a lot of people like to live behind a label or a belief system. It definitely made me think about labels. Then, almost on queue, I heard a motivational speaker on talk radio. He is a former soldier who lost his arms and legs while serving in the military. He said he didn’t consider himself “wounded”. He said he was wounded but now he’s healed. He’s living his life to help others see that life can be as good as you choose. Are you labeling you? Do you have a label that defines your life? Do you hold certain beliefs about yourself that somehow limit you? If you do, what would your life be like if you didn’t have the label? Or if you changed the label? You may not even be aware that you may have a label but I know people who label themselves all the time. I have a friend who has called herself “stupid” for the entire time I’ve known her. She isn’t stupid but at some level, she’s living up to her label. I told her one time that I never considered her stupid and didn’t know anyone who did â€" so why on earth would she? Would she call someone else stupid? No, she would never consider being so cruel â€" but why be cruel to you? See what I mean?   Think about labels today and if you have any, get rid of them and live label-free. Median in Math - Online Math Tutoring

Median in Math - Online Math Tutoring Median is the middle number of a set of observation. Example: - Median of 6, 10, 20 is 10 because 10 is the middle value and 10 divides the set in two equal portion. So the number of values to the left of the median will be equal to the number of values to the right. Following are the steps to find the median. Step 1: Arrange the data. Step 2: Find the position of the median by using the formula (n + 1) / 2 If there are odd number of values in the data then you wil get the whole number by using (n + 1) / 2. So there will be only one middle value which is the median. If there are even numbers of values in the data then you will get a decimal number by applying (n + 1) / 2. So there will be two middle value and after averaging them you will get the median. Example: - Find the median of 9 2 6 5 1 Solution: - Step 1: - Arrange data is 1 2 5 6 9 Step 2: - (n+1) /2= (5+1)/2= 3 Hence 3rd position is the median. Median = 5 Example 2: Find the median of 9 2 6 5 1 3 Solution: - Arrange data is 1 2 3 5 6 9 (n+1)/2= (6+1)/2= 3.5 Therefore average of 3rd and 4th position value gives the median. Median= (3+5)/2= 4

10 Milestones You Should Celebrate As You Learn Spanish

10 Milestones You Should Celebrate As You Learn Spanish Suzy S. Learning Spanish takes a lot of work so dont forget to celebrate when youve made progress! Here, Spanish tutor Joan B. shares the significant milestones to be on the lookout for Learning a language can be an exhilarating experience, as you master concepts, increase your vocabulary, and discover a whole world of communication! When learning Spanish, there are several points along  the language learning-process that are indicative of where you stand in your fluency with the language. So, when you reach these points, be sure to give yourself a pat on the back for all your hard work! Here are 10  milestones to celebrate as you learn Spanish: 1.  You can conjugate -ar, -er and -ir verbs in the present tense. Knowing how to conjugate Spanish verbs in these three different endings multiplies the possibilities you have for expression. Youll know youve reached this milestone when you can write out the following charts of conjugations: 2.  You can ask simple questions using interrogative words and answer them using complete sentences. Knowing interrogative words and being able to form questions and answers means you can have casual conversations in Spanish with a variety of individuals in daily life. For example, you can ask a shopkeeper, ¿Cuánto cuesta el cinturón? (How much does the belt cost?), or reply to the question, ¿De dónde es usted?  (Where are you from?) with, for example, Soy de Miami  (Im from Miami.). 3.  You can listen to an audio recording in Spanish, understand its content, and answer questions about it. When listening to a story or other type of Spanish audio recording, you have to keep up with the rapidity of speech, quickly assimilate the meaning, and comprehend the main points and details. If you can do this, well done! If youd like to test your comprehension, you can ask your Spanish tutor  to read you a passage and ask you comprehension questions, or you can look for exercises in your textbook that offer an audio component. 4.  You can recite the numbers one through 100 and use them in daily contexts. Numbers are essential to know in Spanish, from telling time to speaking about age or the date. If you can confidently recite the numbers from one to 100 and say the time, a price,  and your age, youre competent in numbers, because you can then go on to learn the hundreds, the thousands, and beyond!  Here are some examples: Son las tres y media.  (It is 3:30.) El precio es cuarenta y nueve dólares y noventa y nueve centavos.  (The price is 49  dollars and 99  cents.) Tengo veintisiete años.  (I am 27  years old.) 5.  You can describe yourself both your physical attributes and personality traits. When you can write or say a short paragraph describing yourself, that means you are able to correctly use the verb ser  (to be), descriptive adjectives, and colors in Spanish. For example: Soy cómico pero también puedo ser serio. (Im funny, but I can also be serious.) Tengo los ojos azules y el pelo rubio.  (I have blue eyes and blonde hair.) 6.  You can talk about what you like to do and dont like to do. When you can express your likes and dislikes in Spanish, you are able to more richly express your preferences, you favorite activities, and your opinions.  For example, could you say something along these lines in a real conversation? Me gusta mucho el fútbol, pero no me gusta el tenis; la razón principal es porque soy aficionado del Real Madrid. (I really like soccer, but I dont like tennis; the main reason is because Im a fan of Real Madrid.) If you can do so, then you have just hit this milestone through the goalpost! 7.  You can talk about your family detailing their ages, names, professions, and other details. Describing others in Spanish allows you to discuss news and events with others, share details about your friends and family, and generally speak about others, expanding from speaking about yourself. Heres a short example of what reaching this milestone might look like: Mi hermana mayor se llama María. Ella tiene treinta y tres años, y vive en la misma ciudad que yo. María trabaja como doctora en un hospital. (My older sister is named Maria. She is 33  years old, and she lives in the same city as I do. Maria works as a doctor in a hospital.) 8.  You can describe your city. Discussing your favorite neighborhoods or talking about the incredible Día de los Muertos festival that happens annually in your city means that youve hit this milestone en español! Being able to provide details about the size of your city, its neighborhoods, and its cultures and ethnicities means that you can create complex sentences, express opinions, and make use of a variety of verbs. (My city is my favorite city because its full of life, people, and activities, like festivals, parties, and concerts. My neighborhood has lots to see, many restaurants and activities to participate in. Above all, I love my city because it has variety and lots of different cultures.) 9.  You can talk about what youre going to do on your next vacation, using the forumula, ir + a + infinitivo. Knowing vocabulary for vacations is important, because it reflects your knowledge of leisure activities. Being able to discuss your next vacation also means that you have mastered the near future tense, in which you use the verb ir (to go) + a  + a verb in the infinitive to express the idea of going to do something. Heres how you might talk about your next vacation: En el verano, voy a ir a Puerto Rico. Cuando estoy allí, voy a ir al mar, comer pescado y nadar. Voy con mi familia, y vamos a estar en Puerto Rico por dos semanas. (This summer, Im going to go to Puerto Rico. When Im there, Im going to go to the sea, eat fish, and swim. Im going with my family, and we are going to stay in Puerto Rico for two weeks.) 10. You can talk about your daily routine, using reflexive verbs, and  what you have to do during the day. Daily routines are full of detail, locations, and items. If you can accurately describe what you do everyday to get ready in the morning (Me ducho a las siete.  [I take a shower at seven.]) and what you have to do during the day, using tengo que + infinitive  (Tengo que ayudar en casa. [I have to help at home.]), you have reached this milestone with flying colors! As you reach these 10  milestones, reflect back on how far youve come since you started learning Spanish. You are now able to communicate effectively, express yourself and understand others! Keep up the great work as you continue learning Spanish. Post Author:  Joan B. Angels Airwaves Exclusive The Best Guitar Accessories

Angels Airwaves Exclusive The Best Guitar Accessories Suzy S. A few weeks ago, we featured an exclusive interview with Angels and Airwaves guitarist David Kennedy. If youre aiming for that AVA sound, we sat down with David again to find out exactly what gear he uses with the band. Read on to check out his recommendations for the best guitar and best guitar accessories Best Guitar There are two basic guitar styles to consider. The Epiphone Les Paul covers one side of guitar playing, and the Fender Stratocaster covers the other. The Les Paul is very clean, warm, and heavier-sounding, so that’s good if you’re playing a lot of power chords. The Strat is a more bright and vibrant sound, like U2 for example. So it just depends on the sound you’re going after. Best Guitar Strings I use Ernie Balls heavy gauge strings I’ve used those my whole life. I like the heavier strings because I have big hands, and the heavier the strings are, the more rigid they are. I’m definitely not a delicate player, so I need the heavier strings. But if youre a lighter player, they make a light version too. Best Amp I use a Fender Twin Reverb, those are really nice. The Vox AC30 is another good one. Theyre compact, but you can also grow with them you can use it in your apartment, or mic em up when youre on stage playing. Best Guitar Pedals for Effects We use a digital delay pedal, which allows you to create different repetitions it just repeats the note you play. The rest of our sound comes from the amp, though, which has two channels, clean and dirty. Best Guitar Pick Guitar picks can be really subjective you really have to experiment and play around with what works for you. I use Tortex in a medium weight. They also have a heavy weight and a light weight, for more delicate playing. For me, I cant feel the strings with the lighter picks. Most guitar accessories are subjective like this, so just keep that in mind! Best Tuner I have a Vox tuner, and we use a rackmount in the studio.  Tuners are pretty self-explanatory, so theres not really a best brand or type, but its really important to have. As a beginner, when youre not as knowledgeable, you dont even realize youre playing out of tune until youre jamming with other people and youll notice it then. Tuning your guitar correctly can make a huge difference, and it makes everything so much more fun when it sounds right! Readers, what are you favorite guitar accessories or brands? There are different types in terms of the sole and the material they’re made from. There are different types of ballet slipper. (Source: indy0333)Demi-Pointe SolesYou can either get a split sole or a full sole which are usually made from leather or suede.A full sole will cover the entire bottom of the slipper and is recommended for beginners regardless of their age. This is useful as it’ll help steady you when you first start dancing. Your foot will be more stable and you’ll be less likely to roll over onto your ankle as you’re building strength in your heel and your feet. With a split sole, there’s a sole at the heel and the ball of your foot. There’s no sole under your arches. This allows for greater flexibility and to perfectly align your instep. However, you’ll need to learn some technique before you give it a go. You’ll need to reach an intermediate level and strengthen your heels before you try them. The MaterialThere are three main types of material for ballet slippers:Leather: your slippers will last longer as this material is more solid. Opt fo r a comfortable size as they won’t soften much over time. As they’re harder, it takes more effort to move your feet around.Canvas: this material is softer and you’re more likely to put holes in them. They’re also more flexible and cheaper than leather slippers but they do tend to deform over time. Some dancers find them more comfortable than leather slippers as they also let your feet breathe more.Satin: the material for pointe shoes. These are quite uncommon but some dancers love them. Some slippers have an elastic triangular band under the feet to bring flexibility and a better line when you’re pointing your feet. Even leather slippers can include this elastic band or canvas under your arches to help you move. To hold the slippers on your feet, there’s often elastic sewn onto the top of the foot.Find out more about ballet clothes.Which Slippers Should You Choose? There are plenty of different models of ballet slipper and you’ll need to choose the one that works best fo r you. To ensure a quality item, you might want to opt for a popular brand: Repetto, Bloch, Capezio, Merlet, Sansha, etc. However, even some of the lesser-known brands can offer quality slippers. You need to consider your level when choosing ballet slippers. If in doubt, ask your tutor. (Source: Jabore)When buying demi-pointes, the quality is important but not as much as when buying pointes. You’re unlikely to cause an injury by choosing the wrong ones unless you pick the wrong size.  Here are three different shoes that we recommend for different levels, budgets, and preferences.Dancez Vous - Vanie: These are elasticated canvas split sole ballet slippers that you can get for around £15. Crossed elastic straps. The size tends to be on the smaller size so you might need to get one or two sizes up from what you regularly get.Capezio - Satin Daisy: This model has a full suede sole, an elastic strap, and is available for £15.50. There are two width options when buying.Bloch - Ladies Proflex Leather: You can get these ballet slippers for £29 from the manufacturer. However, never do this without your dance teacher’s blessing. They’ll tell you when you’re ready to move onto pointe shoes. Pointe technique is much more difficult with pointe shoes so it shouldn’t be taken lightly.Much like with ballet shoes and slippers, there are several criteria to ta ke into account. Most of the time, there’ll be a full leather sole. However, there are split sole models available. In terms of material, pointe shoes are made of satin and so are the ankle straps.Find out more about the cost of ballet clothing. The WidthWhile the width won’t be too important when it comes to ballet slippers and dance shoes, when it comes to pointe shoes, it’s essential. You’ll have a choice of three widths:NarrowMediumWideIf it’s too tight around your joints when you put a pair of pointe shoes on, you’ll need to go up a width. On the other hand, if you feel your foot sliding to the bottom of the pointe shoe, it’s too wide. The Strength of the ShankPointe shoes are reinforced at the shank which supports the sole. There are different levels available from soft to extra strong. Beginners, who tend to lack strength, will opt for a soft shank. Strong experienced dancers will tend to go for a strong shank. The shank needs to bend slightly and follow the arch o f your foot. If it bends too much, your shank is too soft, but if it doesn’t bend at all, your shank is too hard. In the first example, you’ll ruin your pointe shoes in 3 or 4 lessons and the second example, you’ll hurt your toes.  Each time you buy some pointe shoes, you need to think about the hardness of your shank.Learn more about makeup for dance performances. The Length of the UpperThis is how much of the shoe covers the top of your toes and foot. It needs to be long enough to cover your toes up to the joint on the pointe. However, if it’s too long, it’ll cover the pointe. which you don’t want. The Shape of the InsideYou also need to choose pointe shoes whose insides match the shape of your foot. Generally, these shapes are either square or conical. There are three types of feet: Greek feet where the second toe is longer than the big toe, Egyptian feet where the big toe is the longest and each subsequent toe is smaller, and Peasant foot where the toes are all the same size.If you’re in the third category, things will be easier for you.If you feel all your weight on your big toe, the inside of your pointe shoe is too square. If your toes feel crushed, then the inside is too triangular.Which Pointe Shoes Should You Choose?Don’t hesitate to ask your dance teacher for recommendations on pointe shoes. Here are three models that are great for beginners:Repetto - Julietta: Flexible sole, low upper, high heel. Different widths are available: narrow, medium, large. They tend to be on the smaller size so you may need a size or two bigger than what you usually get.Bloch - Amelie: Medium strength shank, shallow box, medium sides. Three widths are available.Wear Moi - La Pointe Beginners: A square box for those with Peasant Feet. There are six widths and six hardnesses available. It can be difficult to work out which are the right pointe shoes. (Source: MichelleHaswell)How to Choose Your Ballet Slippers or Pointe ShoesBudding ballerinas, in addition to choosing their tights and leotards, should probably try their shoes in-store. We wouldn’t recommend buying your shoes online unless you know your exact size for a particular model. The best ballet slippers for you mightn't be the best on the market. (Source: indy0333)For Ballet SlippersYour toes shouldn’t slide around but they also shouldn’t be squashed together. When you try them, don’t hesitate to test the flexibility and make sure that the shoes don’t move around too much. For Pointe ShoesTake your time when choosing pointe shoes. It doesn’t matter if all your friends if your friends have Repettos if they don’t work for you. Don’t hesitate to try different brands and models. You must try your shoes first so that you know they won’t cause an injury.Don’t buy used pointe shoes! Pointe shoes will adjust to a dancer’s foot. After you buy your pointe shoes, you need to break them in before you can do anything with them.In terms of colour, you’ll usually have a choice between pink or black. There are other colours available but you might want to check with your teacher if there’s going to be an end-of-year show where you need to wear a parti cular colour. The rest is up to you!Whether you're in the market for jazz shoes, tap shoes, ballet flats, or any kind of dance shoe, you should consider asking your teacher or instructor for advice.
